If you’ve been keeping up with Highfive this year, then you know 2018 has been groundbreaking for our team. From winning industry-defining awards to securing new funding, inking a new partnership with Ingram Micro and Best Buy for Business, and launching our new Premium meeting room offering, we’ve been hard at work rewriting the rules of the antiquated conferencing space, and giving workers the reliable collaboration solution that they deserve.
Today, we’re taking the next step on our journey to deliver robust, enterprise-ready conferencing for every business with the announcement of two incredible additions to our executive team. Joe Manuele, an enterprise collaboration heavyweight with two decades of experience guiding companies, will now lead operations at Highfive as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Joining him is SaaS veteran Richard Borenstein, who will lead the Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). Richard played an integral role in helping companies like PayPal and RingCentral develop integrations with the biggest brands in the world (like Google, Amazon, and more).
This newly-formed dream team will work closely with Shan Sinha, our Co-Founder and Executive Chairman, to continue Highfive’s tradition of innovative and delightful video conferencing solutions.
Making Money Moves
So how did the stars align for this super squad to emerge? It’s a simple story, actually, and not so different from how many of our customers join Highfive.
As the former leader of global tech integrator Dimension Data’s unified communications business, Joe has vast experience with all the video conferencing platforms on the market today. He’ll tell you himself, the industry has been stagnant, expensive, and under-served… for a long time. So, when he came across Highfive a couple years ago, he knew our team was onto something delightful.
“For anyone who’s ever collaborated using legacy video conferencing systems, I believe that it’s safe to say there is room for significantly improving the voice, video and content quality to provide a superior user experience,” said Joe. “Only Highfive brings together the hardware and software into an elegant hardware-as-a-service and SaaS model that will disrupt this $10 billion video conferencing industry.”
Joe used his sway at Dimension Data to partner the tech giant with Highfive for global distribution, and joined the company’s board as part of the deal. Shan felt that from the moment Joe stepped foot in the boardroom, it was clear he shared our passion and vision for Highfive.
“Joe is a superstar in the enterprise IT tech space,” said Shan. “The fact we were able to attract him to join the company is the biggest sign of our momentum and progress to date. I’m thrilled to start working with Joe to redefine office collaboration on a global scale.”
Shortly after, the duo convinced Richard to join the company as well, and the rest is now history (or soon to be).
“Highfive has solved the problem for businesses stuck with legacy hardware and wanting to move to a hardware-and-software-as-a-service model that’s WebRTC-based and running in the cloud,” explained Richard. “The market will follow us.”
Please join us in giving Joe and Richard a warm welcome to the Highfive team! If you’re as excited to see them come onboard as we are, you can send them both a message on Twitter at @jmanuele and @RBorenstein.
And in addition to expanding our leadership team, we’re also looking for incredible people to join roles across the company. If you think you’ve got the chops to work on the most innovative video collaboration platform out there, check out our open positions and apply!
